
Jessica Barhydt is the director of people at the Climate Leadership Initiative (CLI), where she leads the development of people strategies. She focuses on creating a culture of belonging that enables the CLI team to live its values and achieve its mission of an equitable future for all.
Jessica brings 13 years of leadership experience in human resources, organization development, and operations to CLI. Before joining the team, she worked as an international human resources and organizational development consultant for mission-driven organizations at all stages of growth. Prior to that, she scaled the unicorn startup Allbirds from 17 employees through IPO, building on her experience in the people space. Her first profession was running wind-sport competitions in San Francisco and around the world.
Jessica earned a master’s degree in organization development from Pepperdine University and a bachelor’s degree in global studies from the University of California, Santa Barbara. Having grown up in the Bay Area, she has a deep appreciation for nature and the people whose lands we inhabit.
