Marcelo Palmieri is operations coordinator at the Climate Leadership Initiative (CLI), where he will support the creation and management of processes that enable CLI to run effectively and address the day-to-day needs of the team.
Prior to joining CLI, Marcelo served in a dual role as an administrative assistant and research coordinator for the WISDOM Study, an innovative breast cancer screening research trial being conducted by the University of California, San Francisco. During his time there, Marcelo had the privilege of assisting in improving administrative processes as well as working on recruiting and overseeing participants’ journeys throughout the study. He is proud of his contributions towards increasing the population diversity of the study by being on the forefront of creating a community leadership advisory board and new workflows, including a new passive method of recruitment with Veterans Affairs.
Originally from Utah, Marcelo was raised and remains in the Bay Area. He received a BS in public health education from San Francisco State University and hopes to continue to utilize his knowledge and perspective to build towards a more sustainable and equitable future.
