Mantra Robinson is a senior philanthropy advisor for the Climate Leadership Initiative (CLI), where she serves as a trusted guide for philanthropists seeking to address global climate change with an urgency and scale commensurate with the size of the challenge.
For 20 years, Mantra has inspired individuals and foundations to take action supporting causes they love and inviting their peers to join them. Prior to joining CLI, Mantra served as director of advancement at Head-Royce School, a preeminent K-12 independent school in Northern California, where she led the development and communications teams to complete the largest capital campaign in the school’s 136-year history. She began her fundraising career at UC Berkeley where she managed reunion and parent campaign teams, along with volunteer boards responsible for peer philanthropy. Before shifting to nonprofit leadership, Mantra worked for global strategy consulting firm Bain & Company, first at Bain’s corporate headquarters in her hometown of Boston and then moving to San Francisco to serve as Bain’s first west coast knowledge broker.
Mantra holds a BA from Mount Holyoke College and serves on the board of Make-A-Wish Bay Area. A mother of two, Mantra was deeply moved by watching millions of students stream out of schools for the climate strike spurred by Greta Thunberg and is committed to taking action today on behalf of the future generations who will inherit this beautiful planet.
