Gideon Bresler

Gideon Bresler is a senior philanthropy advisor for the Climate Leadership Initiative (CLI), where he partners with innovative NGOs and with philanthropists eager to fund game-changing climate solutions.

Gideon has worked on solving some of the world’s most pressing challenges through strategic philanthropy, community-building, and diplomacy for more than 15 years. Prior to joining CLI, Gideon led the major gifts team at the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS). Previously, he served in Her Majesty’s Diplomatic Service; the diplomatic service of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland—advising British and American military leaders in Afghanistan and then serving as chief of staff at the British Embassy in Washington, DC.

Having lived, worked, and scuba dived across five continents, Gideon is fortunate to have a global network and an incredible appreciation for the beauty and fragility of our planet. He is dedicated to spending each day working to ensure future generations can experience the incredible planet we inhabit. Originally from London, Gideon lives with his husband and their daughter in Los Angeles.
