Danielle Alvarez
Manager, Special Projects, Communications
Danielle is manager of special projects at Climate Lead, where she partners with the chief communications officer on strategic communications endeavors for Climate Lead and its partners. Danielle believes that solidarity is built through shared understanding and approaches her work with this goal in mind.
She brings nearly a decade of experience in project management, communications strategy, and event curation. Prior to joining Climate Lead, Danielle led fundraising for the Immigration Institute of the Bay Area, where she designed and ran gatherings to supercharge donor engagement. She previously collaborated on hundreds of fundraisers at 501 Auctions (now Community Brands) and developed public symposiums nationwide with Zócalo Public Square and its institutional partners.
Danielle holds a bachelor’s degree in magazine journalism and modern foreign languages from Syracuse University and completed a postgraduate degree in global communications at the American University of Paris. Danielle is proficient in Spanish and French. She is excited to lend her skills to healing the planet and improving the lives of all with whom we share it.
