Shannen Torres

Shannen is communications coordinator at Climate Lead, where she supports content and events strategy as well as the everyday operations of the communications team.
Prior to joining Climate Lead, Shannen supported marketing strategy at El Centro Chicano y Latino, creating engaging experiences for visitors and staff, and managing digital communications. She comes from an arts and non-profit background, having previously worked in Digital Collections for the Cooper Hewitt Smithsonian Design Museum and as a digital researcher for the U.S. Latinx Art Forum, an advocacy organization for Latinx art and art history.
Born and raised in New York, Shannen earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees at Stanford University, and currently resides in Boston. She is fluent in Spanish and studies Haitian Creole in her free time. Shannen’s belief in a just future fuels her commitment to climate and environmental justice work.
