Masego Madzwamuse
Masego Madzwamuse is the director of the environment program at the Oak Foundation. Masego has more than 20 years of experience supporting the rights of communities in conservation, movements, and civil society organizations advocating for social and economic justice. She has led research and advocacy efforts and worked with economic justice networks; trade, debt, and aid advocacy groups; parliamentary portfolio committees; and conservation and environmental organizations working on natural resource governance and socio-economic and cultural rights. Previous roles include serving as CEO of the Southern Africa Trust; team leader of the Social and Economic Justice program at the Open Society Initiative of Southern Africa; and country director of the Botswana Office for International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN). Masego has a B.A. from the University of Botswana and a master’s degree in environmental sciences from Rhodes University in South Africa.
