Knowledge Management Analyst, Global Climate Strategies

Awantika is the knowledge management analyst at Climate Lead, where she manages and optimizes the organization’s knowledge management systems to ensure that critical climate solutions and strategies are captured, structured, and easily discoverable. By strengthening processes for learning, documentation, and data quality, she helps Climate Lead scale its impact and ensure donors are matched with the most effective solutions to address the climate crisis.

Prior to joining Climate Lead, Awantika worked across several humanitarian and environmental organizations, with a focus on leveraging storytelling, knowledge, and partnerships to drive impact. At Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team (HOTOSM), she supported open mapping initiatives that empower local communities and responders with critical geospatial data in times of crisis. At the International Water Resources Association (IWRA), she contributed to global efforts on water and environmental governance.

Awantika holds a masters’s degree in International Relations, with a focus on Development, Climate and Sustainability from Johns Hopkins University’s School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Economics from Central Washington University. Originally from Nepal, she is deeply interested in the intersection of climate resilience, equity, and sustainable development, and is motivated by the potential of knowledge systems to amplify collective action for a more just and sustainable planet.
