Rachel Kyte
Rachel Kyte is a Professor of Practice in Climate Policy at the Blavatnik School of Government, University of Oxford. She is the former dean of the Fletcher School at Tufts University, the first woman to lead the oldest graduate-only school of international affairs in the U.S. Previously, she served as the chief executive officer and special representative of the UN Secretary-General for Sustainable Energy for All, and co-chair of UN-Energy. Rachel also served as vice president at the World Bank Group and special envoy for climate change, leading integration of climate across the bank’s work and supporting an ambitious agreement at the 21st Convention of the Parties of the UNFCCC (COP 21). Her career has focused on affordable, reliable, and sustainable energy as the key to combating both poverty and climate change. Previously, she was the vice president for sustainable development at the World Bank Group and the vice president for business advisory services at the International Finance Corporation. Rachel has a B.A. from the University of London and a master’s degree in international relations from the Fletcher School.
